Background, Experience & Training

I am a wife to a loving husband and a mother to two beautiful children. The birth of my first child was a traumatic event and abruptly ended in a cesarean section. This experience left me wondering what could have been done differently. When I became pregnant with our second child, we hired a doula in hopes of avoiding a second cesarean and to enhance our overall birth experience.
The birth of our second child was blissfully memorable and will forever be cherished in my heart. Not only was I able to avoid the unwanted cesarean, I was also able to have the birth that I had desired. While the situations surrounding each birth were very different, I truly believe that if a doula had been present during my first birth, that the memories created would have been very different.
I believe that pregnancy and childbirth are a magical time and I am passionate about helping women and their partners have the best experience possible.
I have attended birth doula training through the Sierra Childbirth Institute and I am currently working towards certification through DONA International.

Special Note:

Congratulations on your pregnancy and upcoming birth!  I wish you the best on your journey towards motherhood.

"The day that a woman gives birth will be one of the most memorable days of her life. She does not just have a baby - she becomes a mother. "
