Background, Experience & Training
I
am a member of: Lamaze International, DONA(Doulas Of North America),
CAM(California Association of Midwives) and CAPPA(Childbirth and
Postpartum Professional Association) all are wonderful organizations I am
proud to be apart of. I am also a certified Lamaze instructor, I
was trained by "A Passion for Birth" through Lamaze international in
Feb.2007. I am now a student of the Midwife -To-Be program to become a licensed
midwife in California. I
always enjoy and look forward to furthering my training and knowledge as a
Doula, childbirth educator, and someday a Licensed midwife.
I
was trained to be a Doula at, "A Child is Born"(DONA approved
training) in Sacramento,
Ca in January 2001. There after I started, "Baby Love Childbirth
Services" wanting to assist woman in regaining their strength, confidence
and trust in their bodies. I also have been trained as a childbirth educator
with, "A Labor of Love" through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum
Professional Association) in San
Francisco in February 2004. Currently I have been
trained and certified as a certified lactation education counselor.
Special Note:
"Welcome and Congratulations on your pregnancy!"
My name is Danielle O'Keefe, CD,CBE, LCCE, CLEC and
student midwife. I am the mother of three wonderful children: Valek-9,
Reign&Aurora-3yr and wife to loving husband Colin. I am also enjoying
being a Doula and childbirth educator, assisting families in achieving a
birth they will always love and remember for 8 years and have attended 250
births as a professional doula.
My
birth philosophy is a simple one; I believe and trust in the body to know what
to do during birth whether in the hospital or at home. I truly believe that
birth is a natural process that a woman's body was made for. Birth is not an
illness or something that needs to be fixed but it is one of the most important
and life impacting journeys a woman will go through.
Birth is a
rite of passage and every woman should have the right and hope to birth her
baby gently and peacefully.
